A space where healing happens through connection, understanding, and the courage to explore all parts of who you are.
Hi, I'm Dr. Zainub Mallick. From a young age, I've been fascinated by the brain, the mind, and the beautiful complexity of human connection.
My journey started at the University of Houston (Go Coogs!), took me to New York for graduate school, California for my internship, and brought me back home to Houston for my post-doctoral fellowship. I'm overjoyed to give back to the community that raised me.
What drives me? Creating a space where you can safely explore all the parts of who you are—without judgment, with full acceptance of your experiences.

I work with children, families, and adults—with a particular passion for diverse populations, especially South Asian clients.
Do you feel like you and your child can't connect? Are you struggling to understand your teen's world?
Using play-based and behavioral models, I help bridge communication gaps and give families practical skills to support each other during difficult times. For parents feeling overwhelmed or children feeling misunderstood, we can find common ground and build stronger bonds.
Life's challenges don't end with childhood. Whether you're a parent seeking to create a healthier family dynamic or working through personal challenges—depression, anxiety, trauma, or grief—I'm here to support you in gaining peace and confidence.
I have a particular interest in working with diverse populations, especially South Asian clients. Your cultural background and identity are honored and integrated into our work—this is a space where all parts of you belong.
Therapy is a space where healing begins—not through judgment, but through collaboration, strength-building, and genuine connection.
We're partners in this journey. Rather than judgment or discipline, I see us as a team tackling challenges together. Your input shapes everything we do.
I'm always looking for what you're doing right and building upon those successes. We combine our strengths to create real, lasting change.
Whether through traditional talk therapy, play-based interventions, or behavioral techniques, I adjust my methods to best serve you and your family's unique needs.
This is a space to safely explore the many parts of who you are—without judgment, with full acceptance of your experiences and identity.
A practical, goal-oriented approach that helps identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional regulation and develop personal coping strategies.
Combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices to help manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop distress tolerance skills.
Focuses on the therapeutic relationship itself as a vehicle for healing, exploring how past relationships influence present patterns and building new ways of connecting.
Uses play as the natural language of children to help them express feelings, explore relationships, and work through challenging experiences in a safe, supportive environment.
A relationship-based intervention that works with young children and caregivers together to strengthen attachment, improve communication, and heal from trauma or disruption.
Explores unconscious patterns and past experiences to understand how they shape current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, fostering deeper self-awareness and lasting change.
Clients who work with me often experience a profound shift:
Learn to communicate more effectively, reducing misunderstanding and building connection. Through our collaborative work, families discover new ways to understand each other and create stronger emotional bonds.
Gain confidence in exploring relationship dynamics and processing emotions. You'll develop tools to navigate complex feelings and build healthier patterns of relating to yourself and others.
You'll develop a deeper comfort with who you are, prepared to face life's challenges with persistence and hope. The journey isn't about becoming someone new—it's about embracing all the parts of who you already are.
